A flamenco guitar with European spruce top.The back and sides are made from English Yew which was blown down in the hurricane of 1989. This is guitar is remarkable for it's volume.The purfling is made for ebony and tulip wood.The fascia on the head is ebony backed by tulip wood.
There is an ebony layer 2 mm thick on the back of the head.  This helps hold in place end-grain maple bearings set into the head which should prevent the holes from wearing over the lifetime of the guitar.Peghead flamenco guitar with European Spruce topThe back is made from English Yew which was blown down in the great storm of 1989. This guitar is remarkable for it's loudness and earthy sound.The rosette is made from snakewood
The head fascia and pegs are made from  ebony.The back of the head has a 2mm ebony covering.  This is to help hold in place the end-grain maple bearings which should prevent the holes for the pegs wearing unevenly over the lifetime of the guitar.A flamenco guitar with European spruce top.  The bridge weighs just over 19 grams (2/3 ounce) which helps give the guitar terrific attackBack and sides are Cypress.
The head and pegs are in rosewood.Detail of  where the purfling joins the heel.This rosette, which was asked for by the customer, uses some elements of a Hauser rosette. The purfling is rosewood, box and tulipwood.
